After spending some time with the thought, we still could not come up with anything we do not like about Italy. But on the “we are in love with” side there is a huge competition. We cannot even name a winner, but for sure, Lake Garda is among the really loved ones.
Due to the mediterranean climate Lake Garda is a popular tourist attraction throughout the whole year, where everybody finds a way to relax. The Italian cuisine and the lovely small villages are some obvious attractions. Beyond these, the largest lake of Italy offers a huge variety of activities to those in love with outdoor sports. Beautiful trekking routes around the lake, amazing via ferratas with great view and cool mountain bike routes. Those preferring rock climbing can choose of many rock climbing locations and routes, depending on their level of experience and on how daring they are. The marvelous canyons are the speciality of the area and we cannot say no to their call whenever we are there.
The little villages with their historic downtown, cobbled streets, little windows full with flowers, satisfied guests drinking aperol spritz on the sunny terraces and small kids playing on the streets happily while eating yummy gelato – simply enchanting picture. But for sure, if your heart beats for outdoor sports, your favorite place will be Arco, where you’ll find numerous outdoor shops. It is heartwarming to see all those “mountain people” checking out all the shops, and have a look at the latest innovations, the newest climbing gear and the finest outdoor clothes. Even if we don’t buy anything (almost impossible), this place worth a visit within opening hours.
We usually visit Lake Garda to enjoy canyoning and the nearby via ferratas, but we can recommend many other outdoor activities if needed.
